NATIONAL DIRECTOR & SENIOR SAFETY INSTRUCTOR

Tony DeCresie brings a very diverse and extensive background spanning numerous industries – working with both public and private entities. He is a nationally recognized training manager with several different organizations over the past 25 years. Tony’s primary area of focus revolves around public works safety, transportation, highway & road work site safety training and basic heavy equipment operations safety. Tony’s dedication to training has led him to become well-versed in a broad spectrum of OSHA and DOT safety training topics. He previously served as a DOT Certified Safety Manager and as the Director of the Road Scholar Certification Program and the Tribal Technical Assistance Program (TTAP) for the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA).

Tony currently serves as the National Training Director and a Senior Safety Instructor for Training USA.

Stacie Nerdahl
CUSTOMER RELATIONS MANAGER

Stacie has over 30 years of experience in General Administration and Municipal Finance working with local governments. Along with maintaining our training calendar and trainer assignments, she also manages and updates our online training platform, coordinates our CEU program, produces video and website content, and works tirelessly to make sure the training experiences of our participants are the absolute best in the industry. Stacie is a true joy to work with as any of our clients will tell you from experience.

Stacie serves as the Customer Relations Manager for Training USA.



Noel "Chuck" Beneke
Senior Safety Trainer

Chuck has been a Safety Professional for more than 30 years. He has
worked as a Safety Manager for general industry and a Project Safety
Manager in Heavy Industrial Construction as well as Residential Construction. Chuck has taught OSHA 500, OSHA 501, OSHA 510 & OSHA 511 in Hawaii and Florida. He was twice Chairman of the Hawaii OSHA Advisory Committee and a board member of the Pacific Education Center in Honolulu, HI

Chuck serves as a Senior Safety Trainer for Training USA, Inc.

 



Mike Butz
Senior Safety Trainer

Mike Butz is a retired Coast Guard Veteran. During his 31 years of service, he served as a Commanding Officer of 5 Coast Guard units. From 2002-2004 he served as the School Chief for the Coast Guard Boat Operations School in Yorktown, Virginia  where he specialized in curriculum development and Instructional Systems Design. Upon retiring from the Coast Guard, Mike worked in the Heavy Marine Construction industry where he specialized in Safety and Environmental Health, Inspections, Auditing and Training. 

Mike serves as a Senior Safety Trainer for Training USA, and his specialties include Heavy Equipment Operations, Job Risk Assessment and Work Zone Hazard Analysis.



Bill Funderburk
Senior Safety Trainer

Bill Funderburk has been involved with Construction Safety for 38 years. As a Construction Safety Director, he was involved in construction projects of up to $600 million all over the United States. He supervised multiple contractors in nuclear power, food processing, airports, gas and oil refineries – just to name a few. He was heavily involved with on-site training for all types of contractors. He takes great pride in the excellent safety record he’s maintained for ALL the projects he has supervised. Bill has been a member of the American Society of Safety Professionals since 1989.

Bill serves as a Senior Safety Trainer for Training USA and specialties include Underground Excavation & Trench Safety, Fall Protection and Confined Space Entry safety.

Jim Hock
SAFETY & TRAINING CONSULTANT

Jim Hock is a retired Fire Chief from Del City, OK with over 35 years of experience in the public safety field. In addition to his career in the fire service, Jim served as a CLEET Certified Peace Officer, a National Certified Emergency Medical Technician, and Del City’s Emergency Manager. Jim is currently a volunteer Emergency Management Specialist for Oklahoma County and serves as a Type III Operations Section Chief for the Oklahoma Incident Management Team.

Jim serves as a Safety and Training Consultant for Training USA, Inc.

Mark Koop
SENIOR SAFETY TRAINER
Mark Koop

Mark Koop is a decorated United States Marine Corps veteran with training and vocations in IT and Military Police. He served as Operations Chief for a Military Police platoon, Training NCO, Vehicle Commander, Range Safety Officer, and is Combat Lifesaver Certified. He has served on 4 continents, including deployments to Korea, Peru and Operation Iraqi Freedom. In the private sector he has served in numerous management and executive roles, and has extensive experience and breadth of knowledge serving government, corporate, and private sector clients worldwide. Mark grew up around heavy equipment and construction and has trained in safety and security operations for over 20 years. Mark’s greatest passions include family, instructing, coaching, and assisting new generations to be the best they can be, as well as a love for animals, nature, and the outdoors.  Mark and his wife Katrina have founded a 501(c)3 public charity, True Pals Animal Welfare Society, Inc., whose goal is to foster great stewardship and improve the well-being and health of people, animals, and the environment.

Mark serves as a Senior Safety Trainer for Training USA.

Brad Ackman
SAFETY TRAINER

As a senior geologist, Brad worked on large petroleum spills at a variety of Alaska-based locations and facilities. He also worked with the National Park Service, including Glacier Bay, Lake Clark and three consecutive summers at Brooks Camp in Katmai.

While working as an exploration geologist in the lower 48, Brad was responsible for creating drilling prospects in the mid-continent basins of Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, and Utah, and is still involved with these projects as an investor.

Brad also helped create one of the largest private firearms training facilities, primarily located in Nevada with a second training facility in Alaska. While serving as Chief Operating Officer and Director of Training, Brad was in charge of safety for the entire operation, a successful mission which we now welcome at Training USA.

Brad is also an author, private pilot, EMT, competitive shooter and enthusiastic fisherman.

Eric Eisenhour
SAFETY TRAINER
Eric has over 20 years of experience in all general construction, first working as a supervisor of crews, with special significance in safety and OSHA requirements and later owning his own company specializing in all forms of commercial and residential remodeling. Training crews and helping individuals new to the field were favorite parts of his job.
 
After selling the construction business Eric developed and ran a successful business in the food brokerage industry for nearly 20 years. In this field he spent much of his time working with vendors and manufacturers helping them to achieve their goals in sales and in building their own businesses, which often involved training and teaching sessions that helped these key players better understand customer and client needs.
 
Through Eric’s various career endeavors, he has become an accomplished public speaker and trainer. He truly enjoys training with both individuals and groups and we are excited he has joined the Training USA team!
Scott Melton
SAFETY TRAINER
Scott Melton (aka Safety Scott) is a 20-year Department of Transportation (DOT) employee with experience in highway/Infrastructure maintenance, construction and materials quality and gradations, highway design, survey, traffic incident management, work zone, flagger and safety/risk management.
 
He has worked for two different state DOTs in positions of Seasonal Maintenance Worker, Maintenance Crew Worker, Assistant Design Technician/Intermediate Design Technician, Senior Safety Officer, Senior Safety Specialist and District Safety & Health Manager. He was also a District Maintenance Incident Management Coordinator responsible for highway/Infrastructure incident management, emergency management, emergency traffic control and emergency contract management. During his tenure with the DOTs, Scott also cross-trained in construction/materials quality control & materials gradations.
 
Scott also has several years of experience working for municipal governments in roles such as Safety & Training Officer, Safety & Training Specialist, and Loss Control Consultant for risk pools specific to municipal governments. He also has experience with commercial insurance underwriting and self-insurance programs and is experienced with third-party administration of claims and premium management and EMR administration and oversight.
 
Scott holds a Master of Science in Safety, Security and Emergency Management from EKU and is a Certified Safety Professional via Board of Certified Safety Professionals. He also holds a Class-A CDL.
Todd Zech
SAFETY TRAINER

Todd Zech grew up immersed in the world of construction, developing a deep respect for the hard work and dedication the industry demands and an unwavering commitment to safety from a young age. As his career progressed, Todd took on leadership roles, overseeing safety operations on both small- and large-scale construction sites while spearheading initiatives that prioritized worker well-being.
 
A seasoned equipment operator and trainer, Todd brings practical insight to every jobsite, helping crews operate efficiently and safely. He also serves as a constructibility consultant, offering expert plan reviews to identify risks and improve jobsite execution before work even begins.
 
Todd has often trained in tandem with his wife, Julie, and together (now in their 35th year of marriage!) they share a passion for helping workers become highly skilled without ever sacrificing safety. As a devoted family man, Todd’s mission is clear: foster a strong safety culture where everyone goes home safely each night ~ every worker is part of someone’s family.
