Another Fantastic Year!

We are very proud to announce that 2023 was Training USA’s busiest and best-est year yet! As part of our 25% growth in safety training classes, we welcomed several new clients in Florida, South Carolina and West Virginia, and we also crafted several new classes, including Nifty Lift (Cherry Picker) Safety, Boater Safety and Warehouse/Workshop Safety. We also welcomed an additional safety trainer to our team, Mark Koop (more on him later)!

Thank you all for your part in making 2023 such a successful year ~ we look forward to seeing you soon! Let’s keep things safe!

NOTE: If you haven’t already, please enjoy our two-minute holiday safety video (tongue-in-cheek) and meet some of our four-pawed staffers who help keep smiles on our faces and our blood pressure in check.

The Hands-Down Favorite Part of Training? HANDS-ON!

Our students consistently comment that the most valuable element of safety training with Training USA is the hands-on portion of training. A crucial element of any equipment-based safety training program, our trainers work closely with participants in the afternoon portion of the training day to make sure they know how to correctly apply the safety elements they learned during the classroom instruction received in the morning. (Pictured below are satisfied participants from a recent Forklift Operation & Safety class with District 6 of the Florida DOT.)

New Client Alert!

We were excited to work with the West Virginia Local Technical Assistance Program (WV-LTAP) in September 2023 for their annual Snow & Ice Control Workshop. Tony DeCresie provided participants with important information for winter road maintenance operations safety along with stormwater fundamentals. August and September are great months to get your employees prepared for winter road maintenance. Read more about our Winter Maintenance Operations safety course by viewing our course outline here.

SAFETY AWARD RECEIVED!

Congratulations to the Palm Beach County Parks Department and their management team! We recently learned they received the Excellence Award for Worker Safety from the Safety Council of Palm Beach County, Inc. by reducing their preventable accidents by an incredible 40% from 2021 to 2022.

No doubt your trainings are highly impactful in reaching our safety goals. Thank you for all that you and your staff do to bring us quality training programs and give our staff the knowledge they need to perform their work functions safely.

Parks & Recreation Field Office Coordinator

Last year, TRAINING USA provided over 40 safety training classes for the Parks Department’s employees, ranging from Heavy Equipment Operations, Commercial Vehicle Safety, Fall Protection, Bucket Truck, Chainsaw & Tree Work Safety, and more. Over 650 department employees completed these training classes in 2022.

We are happy to have played a part in helping to achieve this very admirable accomplishment!

New Boater Safety Class Available

Do you have employees who use watercraft in the performance of their duties, even if it’s only occasionally? Our new Boater Operation & Safety training course is tailored to your boat sizes and types and is customized to the type of work for which activities the boats are most used.

Our instructor is an experienced Coast Guard trainer who will review with participants current Florida boating regulations, general boating safety practices and etiquette, and more. This training can be scheduled as a one-day “Classroom Only” program or a two-day “Classroom and Hands-On” training combination.

It’s Spring Training Season!

Nope, we’re not talking about baseball. We have had a busier-than-usual spring safety training season, with over 60 safety training dates completed with our clients. Read on for some of the highlights:

Palm Beach County employees had over 20 safety training events during the months of March and April, both in-person and via Zoom. We also processed applications for CEU credit on behalf of 60+ employees, ensuring their operator re-certification with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection by the April 30 deadline.

Included among PBC’s spring safety classes were:

“I would strongly recommend everyone attend this class.”

Chainsaw Safety Participant Feedback

“Clear information was provided, all my questions answered.”

Vac Truck Safety Participant Feedback

Florida DOT District 7 Completes Heavy Equipment Safety Training in April and May: A total of 35 employees are now freshly certified and ready to safely operate Dump Truck and Skid Steer equipment. It was a pleasure training with these eager-to-learn agency employees!

You can tell the instructor enjoys his job! Great class.

Skid Steer Participant Feedback

Aerial Lift Training with the City of Clearwater in April: The City of Clearwater’s Gas Utilities Department has a brand-new Nifty Lift and we were happy to train them on the safe operation and usage of this shiny new piece of equipment. This training event was one of our “Train the Trainer” courses, with all participants now qualified and ready to train additional employees as the need arises.

Materials put together well. Very informative and easy to follow.
